Christmas Sewing Part 2

That's right folks, I have been up to my usual with sewing! (no surprise, i know) Here are just a few things i have made!
A girl I know is really into bowling, so whats better than a bag with a bowling design on it?! This is a colored pencil and pad of paper holder... I don't have it filled yet, but I am sure you get the idea!

Have you ever heard of LilBlueBoo? If not, you should google it (I don't know how to add a link) and look at her site. I love her creations, and have a few of her patterns. This is a shirt I made Ady from one of them.

I made Hayden this shirt, but I think it's a little to girly.
You all know what a bib looks like!
Also, whenever we head to the store, the kids are begging me for Character Stockings. Being my cheapo self, there is no way I would buy them a stocking with a Character on it, as who knows if they will even like them next year. I did come up with another plan though. I had some extra fabric from previous projects, and whipped them up a stocking of their own. (I used only fabric I had, so they cost me essentially nothing to make) I think they are just as good as any old store bought one, plus these are made with love from me!

Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow!

It seems as though it has been snowing constantly around here the past few days. What better way to enjoy the occasion with waffles made from Ben, and then playing in the snow!
The man himself, making (and eating) waffles! The kids enjoyed them just as much!
Our house this morning, before we shoveled.

Hayden munching on some snow!
All bundled up warm.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We decorated the week before Thanksgiving this year! We have been enjoying the Christmas Spirit, and love the holidays! Here are just a few of the decorations we have up around the house.

We bought this mini tree for ben's work years ago, but the kids love it so we continue to put it up and let them decorate it!

Today I am Thankful!

Today, I am most Thankful for my husband, Ben. My life is complete because of him. Our marriage has had it's ups and downs, but i truly believe that together, we can do anything. He is the rock of our family, the sole provider, sensitive father, and I LOVE HIM!

Sewing for Christmas

I have always wanted to do a handmade Christmas. I am a little reserved about the idea because I really don't know if what I make, is what someone would like to receive. I have been sewing while I recover here at home, and here are some presents I plan on giving!
This is a "play" diaper bag, along with pretend wipes and diapers. I plan on getting a baby doll to include in this present!

Next up is a little shoulder bag that was made from a skirt! I made a matching headband out of the skirt as well and plan to fill the bag with "goodies" for a sweet little girl! With a flower clipped on to it:

Here is the bag without the flower clip:

Here is the fabric headband: This picture doesn't do it justice!

I made 3 of these little purses/handbags. They are perfect for inside your purse, and if you want to take just the necessities, then you can pull it out and have everything you need. Inside this little bag includes a divider, a cell phone pocket, and a sleeve for cards/id's! I plan on filling these with "goodies" as well!

This one I made out of a cute tank top:

2010 Family Pictures

A few weekends ago, my parents came to B-town for the weekend. It was such beautiful weather that we decided to take some family pictures! I think they turned out great! I love them!
Hayden's typical smile: Too cute:

Grandpa and Grandma with Hayden and Ady!
Can you believe that this red barn is literally 3 houses down from ours?!

Favorite of the Day!

He's growing like a tree!

Ok, I need advice on Ady's Shirt. Like or Dislike?
Can't take pictures without doing our feet!

Oh my gosh! We are all smiling! YAY!
I want to shout out to my mom for taking these pictures! Thank you, and Love you lots!

I love reading craft blogs...

While I was browsing craft blogs, I came across "The Boy Trifecta" Blog, http://theboytrifecta.blogspot.com/ The author of this blog has started a challenge: The Handmade Holiday Challenge. It entails making at least one handmade gift a week for the next 9 weeks. I have been wanting to give handmade gifts for Christmas this year, and this is just the motivation I need to get going. I have added a button on my sidebar... (you can add one too!) Wish me luck~! (maybe i will post some pics, but since most of the people that read my blog are family members... maybe i wont)

it's been a while.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ ABOUT MY REAL LIFE, MY FEELINGS, MY SHORTCOMINGS, PLEASE COME BACK SOME OTHER TIME. THIS POST WILL CONTAIN SOME NEGATIVITY. BLOGGING HELPS ME WITH MY FRUSTRATIONS, AND HELPS ME THINK THINGS OUT. I SHOULD PROBABLY BLOG MORE OFTEN.

No reasons for lack of posting lately. Kinda been bummed lately. Been reflecting on decisions we have made, not regretting, but wishing we had put more thought into some. Life has been throwing us tons and tons of curve balls, and we keep surviving. The problem is, i don't want to be just surviving. I want to thrive. I want to provide more for my family. I want to be accomplished, but in what? I haven't got a clue. Thus far, nothing has really sparked my interest to pursue. Honestly, I love sewing, but so do a million other people. I just don't see that as a way of making a living. I would love to have a refashioning business, (remaking old items into new again) and have read where goodwill has joined forces with a designer to re purpose items from the store that don't within a specific time period. I would love to assist in something just like this.

Life with kids has been quite busy. Hayden has started kindergarten, Ady started preschool. Hayden played soccer this year, and loved it tons. We moved in the middle of the summer to a lovely house, and i spend most of my free time cleaning it. I quit my job at the beginning of September, and have been home with the kids since. It's been a big adjustment!

I have not be succeeding in the weight lost aspect. If fact, i believe i have gained about 20 pounds since i stopped weight watchers. Pathetic. Yep I know. I know how to lose weight, I just can't. (I know, it's me telling myself I can't, I can, I know I can.) I know what needs to be done, and i simply just don't do it. The gym and I do not have the best of relationship right now, but sweets and i do. They are my pit fall. Yet, i keep on baking. I have been engrossed in self pitty lately about this (bad bad bad) I keep saying why me. Why is it if I even look at sugar I gain 5 pounds. Why do some people not have to work at staying thin. Why, why, why. I just need to get over myself. Easier said than done. We'll see when that happens.

Living in B-Town has had its ups and downs. Ben and I have found it difficult to find good family friends. It's been hard to relate. Example: Small town living: Everybody knows everybody, i know just about nobody. We have met several people, but having somebody you can relate to, doing things with, and enjoy each others company is a different story. On top of not feeling like i ever fit in, I feel like I am never good enough. I'm always the fat one, the shy one, the poor one, the weird one, the dumb one, the one that no body wants to be friends with. You name it, it's me. I'm not saying we haven't met any new friends, but it comes few and far between. I feel like there is hardly anyone here that we can just be ourselves with.

That's all for now... Maybe I'll post pictures later.
